03/19/2010 | michael grossman | Someone seeded this show (this seed) to furthur recently in a corrupt form. The md5s check out and it decodes, but it decodes to an unrecognizable file format ie., it will not play on any program or allow itself to be burned to cd. The shns will play via winamp but otherwise somethings wrong. (Whoever seeded it orinially to furthur, could you give it another shot?) Sad, because its one of the best audiences from 1980 Ive yet to hear, and a great show from a great month from a great year.

If the SHNs play in WinAmp, it may be possible to decode them to .wav using WinAmp. Go to Options > Preferences > Output(under plug-ins) and select Nullsoft Disk Writer. Remember to set your EQ + preamp levels to flat (unless you want to alter the output). YMMV, depending on the version of WinAmp you've got. These kinds of problems are usually caused by incorrect .wav file headers or, if it's every single file, by incorrect bitrates (e.g., SHNs of 48k DAT data). Yeah, it should be reseeded. |

03/19/2010 | Sean Cribbs | I seeded this show to Furthurnet. I have no idea why the extracted wavs are screwed up. I have deactivated this set of shns and will reseed a clean version.
03/19/2010 | michael grossman | you da man sean....THANKS It's a very worthy show seed in the first place- excellent audience and great show. For some reason september 1980 was just one of those months for the fab 6: 9-2, 9-6 (!), you can even count 8-31 in there..close enough (by the way, anyone who hasnt heard this show and is reading this...get it). But what should i know--i was only 7 at the time and didnt see them until 1988. Not sure if these are appropriate comments for an shn, however just wanted to give a shout out for this particular seed...it sounds great in my opinion and is worth seeking out. Thanks again for seeding it sean.
03/19/2010 | michael grossman | low and behold: i used winamp (2.8? def. not 3.0 as it dowsnt have these options) and was able to decode this show to a viable wa file ie., it played back and is recordable....never knew you could decode an shn file to wav using win amp...new one to me. However didnt check to see if wav md5s would match up...
