Bruce Hornsby and the Range were signed to RCA Records in 1985. Their first album, The Way It Is, was released in late September '86, just a few weeks after this concert. I'd imagine the crowd was hearing most of this material for the first time. With the success of the single, the album went multi-platinum and produced another top-five hit with ‘Mandolin Rain.’”
