07/01/2004 | Lewis/Klitschko | While sounding better, this "Dark Star" is nine seconds shorter than the previous seed's. Does anyone know if there's a cut or a speed difference? I would lean towards a cut since the previous one is cut in a place this one is not, and I didn't detect much pitch variance. If there is a cut, please let us know where it is.

archive.org refers to this source as 12127, which is why I reference this number below. Hamilton's Master Reel > Cassette source is referred to as 12126. 12127 is not a Master Reel. It is likely, a Master Reel > Cassette that has had 15 to 20db noise reduction applied. Spectral analysis clearly shows how noise reduction has affected or removed the white noise. 12126 spectral analysis can be seen here: http://www.deadacated.com/10-30-73_12126.bmp 12127 spectral analysis with the noise reduction can be seen here: http://www.deadacated.com/10-30-73_12127.bmp The noise reduction is done well. If this were labeled a remaster and the lineage was listed correctly, it would be considered a good job. jay |

04/18/2005 | CS Miller | The NR was totally unecessary, though. The original seed sounded just fine. Some hiss isn't necessarily a bad thing.
02/10/2006 | Charlie Miller | Rob Eaton let me copy his Dats from this show. I'm currently patching it for circulation...cm |
