This version suffers from a high-pitched hiss and, more seriously, a sense of "something missing," which appears to be the lower fequencies. The 10/19/74 from the same source has the same problems. I have not heard the 10/18/74 from the same source, to compare. Also, at least one part spot-checked (Brokedown Palace) sounded off pitch (slow). |

07/08/2004 | C Miller | The ** audience source sounds a little fast to me. Not too much, though. A decent audience, nonetheless. A complete show from that source would be nice.
07/15/2004 | Chuck Frolio | There are md5's for a 4th disc (Seastones A and Seastones B) but no corresponding SHN files for these tracks.
11/18/2004 | Lewis/Klitschko | There is a Phil and Ned segment, yes? Which point in the show? Before the "Playin'"?
11/18/2004 | Diana | As noted in the setlist entry here, "Phil Lesh and Ned Lagin ("Seastones") between sets". As noted by Chuck in the comments above, the presence of Seastones md5s in this record implies that there are/were circulating tracks for those segments- although they apparently haven't made it into the archived copy.

Heh, I see the tracks do exist in circulation because according to Greg's notes on our copy, we have them. :) http://research.umbc.edu/~hamilton/Sources/gd741020gsh.txt |

11/18/2004 | Lewis/Klitschko | Yes, but I'm wondering where in the show, chronologically, they appeared.
11/18/2004 | Diana | I take "between sets" to mean, between each set.
11/18/2004 | Matt | "Phil & Ned" or "Seastones" was always performed between sets... Then there are rare times the band joins in with Phil as the set begins.
11/18/2004 | Charlie Miller | It was between sets 1 and 2.

The first Seastones track is 27:26 in length, while the second is 12:58. It sounds to me like the second is just a partial version of the first. I'd also surmise that Phil & Ned didn't do 40 minutes of Seastones. Is anyone else able to confirm or disprove this? There's really no info about those 2 tracks. |
