05/20/2006 | Randy Carman | this is clearly just dick's picks 3 with the leftovers stuck in between. this is clearly not an audience recording, clearly from two sources and shows no fm generation at all. what radio station would dedicate 3 hours to play a dead concert that is not professionally edited, and with no commercials and no announcer whatsoever? obviously this is a farce and should not be traded as it is dp3. just because it was supposedly aired on fm, still doesn't make it tradeable, because a sbd is still a sbd even if it's supposedly taped from the radio

If you're right about this just being a rip of DP 3, then of course this shouldn't be traded. Giving the benefit of the doubt, it is possible that terrapin edited out the commercials and DJ announcements himself. Other than the lack of announcements, how did you determine there was no FM generation? Did you do look at the .wavs in spectrum view in Cool Edit or do some other type of freq. analysis? If it is FM, my own view, as I've stated elsewhere, is that the law allows trading, regardless of what anyone, including the Dead says. Of course, that's just my opinion, and since neither the Dead nor I are elected legislators or judges, neither of our opinions supercedes the law, whatever it may be. |

01/10/2007 | btet | Addendum to my last comment - I just downloaded the opening Funiculi from a source that will remain anonymous for its own protection. In spectral view in Cool Edit the frequencies obviously go into the 22.5 khz range, well beyond the 16 khz/channel FM limit. If this is an FM then I'm my aunt Louise. It's obviously a non-FM SBD source; I believe Randy's right and it's a rip of DP 3 - regardless, it shouldn't be traded. Sorry for doubting you, Randy.

Well, deep subject, I just looked it up to see if I had a copy of the show to compare against what it present on Dick's Pick 3. A good deal was left out. I have not listend to this version. Though I will be burning a copy. As for trading it. Whoever seeded it, well it's too late. I am not planning on re-seeding it but it was seeded and it's out there. |

12/17/2017 | charliemiller87@earthlink.net | You can tell that this is dick's picks because it has the same edits in Dancing In The street and Eyes Of The World as the official release. This should be banned. |
