SHNTOOL reports extra data contained in the wav file for d2t02. This condition is not harmful to the audio and you would only need to worry about it if you were editing this WAV file and the extra data confused your editor. In that case you can use SHNTOOL in "strip" mode to eliminate the extra data. Fun show! |

09/06/2001 | darryl norsen | i see someone noted extra information on d2t2, but my question is would this affect the md5's? because i've downloaded d2t2 3 times now (once on fikus.etree.org, and twice on nycheads.com) and all 3 times its failed its verification. if anybody else had (or didnt for that matter) this trouble would they let me know. thanks! | |

problem has been solved! i believe the md5 was downloaded off fikus.etree.org before i was disconnected and had to finish the show off on nycheads. therefore i went back and downloaded the md5 off nycheads and the verification went through with flying colors! absolutely amazing show and highly recommended if others havent heard it yet. once again big props to the DANK SEEDS BOYS!!! keep 'em coming!!!! -darryl. |

GJP wrote to etree: "Be aware that the gd74-07-19.dnk show being hosted on ptt.nycheads is not completely legit. The gd74-07-19d2t2 *does not match*. The official md5 is: a9dd98cad39c46f033ae0efa38007d59 *gd74-07-19d2t02.shn The one up on ptt.nycheads is: 5c03f964d8dc2b7f1ac8a97381f82699 *gd74-07-19d2t02.shn" Given the comments already on this entry, presumably one version (either "nyc" or dnk" version, not sure myself) has had its d2t2 wav header fixed. Note this would not change the music data itself. In this case I have now listed all versions of d2.md5s (both wav and shn md5s for both nycheads and dankseeds versions) in this same entry. Additional clarifying comments are welcome. |

Diana, re your post referencing GJP's post about the NYCheads version of this show. The bottom line is this: 1) prior to September 11, 2001, the version of d2t2 up at nycheads.com contained the extraneous wav header information that was stripped/removed from the "certified dank" version. Although you are correct in that this extraneous wav header information DOES have absolutely no bearing on the music, etc., it IS a different file than that which was "certified dank" by the dankseeds folks -- 2) on (or about) September 11, 2001, the nycheads.com version of this track was changed (along with its md5, etc.) so that now the nycheads.com site has the "certified dank" version of this entire show. If you want to have the true dankseeds version of this show (regardless of whether the music itself unaffected) and downloaded it from nycheads.com prior to September 11, 2001, you should obtain the new version of d2t2. 3) My only additional clarification would be that, in light of my above remarks, the d2md5 entries for the "nyc" versions should probably be changed to NYC(old) or something like that |

09/18/2001 | Diana Hamilton | Thanks Darrin! To be clearer I've now omitted the nyc reference. The d2 md5 files that match the d2t2 with the extra header info are now denoted d2oldshn and d2oldwav in the listing here. The md5 files d2dnkshn and d2dnkwav match the dankseed, corrected version with stripped-header d2t2. |
