12/01/2001 deadhead Here are some posts from alt.binaries.gdead.d regarding the source of this show:

>I've been listening to this before burning it and imo it sounds as

>or lossy compression in the lineage.

12/17/2001 Marcus T I HIGHLY doubt this version is from an FM source. The
sound quality is stupendous and equal to 5/19/77. Yes
you can hear very faintly, songs played during some of
the tuneup's but I attribute that to perhaps an electronic
short in Betty's gear and NOT from FM. There's also no
FM compression present not any artifacts other than
what I just mentioned. It just sounds too good..
12/17/2001 St Stephen I agree. This show sounds spectacular. I think the
lineage is correct too. Eaton's list indicates:

05/18/77 The Fox Theatre, Atlanta Ga - complete
4.9, 175min, Sbd, A0D1, Reel M->Dat 1, 44k
7inch Master Reels@7.5ips 1/2trk->dbxk922->3700 x 0->3800 x 1
03/09/2002 hub spencer I believe this show is from an FM source. The obvious fact being the bleed through of another station that is audible between some of the songs. There are also a few glitches that I believe are static. I have never heard any noise like that on a true Betty Reel source.
05/10/2002 Tim Burke The Other One(d3.tr2) has a reel? or tape? warble leading to a miniscule cut. (:06-:09)
09/15/2002 Slydell Lots of loud clicks and digi-noise during Lazy Lightning.
09/16/2002 Slydell Jack Straw (d2t5) is in real bad shape. Digital noise accompanies each note strung by Phil most of the song.
09/16/2002 Slydell The digital noise actually comes with the drums during Jack Straw.
10/11/2002 Mr.Marmar This has got to be the absolute worst seed I have ever come across....the sound is unbareable for the vast majority of the show...levels jumping around, BAD HARSH static (sounds akin to some serious clipping) After I downloaded and listened to it, it was immeadiately wiped off my HD....I've heard MP3 versions of this show that sounded better ;-)

03/16/2005 Dutchman1101 I don't know what people are smokin' but this is a damn good show. Yeah there are a few digi pops here and there and maybe a little distortion here and there but that?s it. This might be one of the better sounding shows I've heard in a while. It?s a full and well bodied recording. Cheers to who ever put this on the archive. Just my $.02
10/12/2006 skbarchives I can confirm 100% that the radio bleedthrough is on the vault master reels.

cm
10/12/2006 skbarchives I'm wondering if the radio bleed through has something to due with the way they set up the fm broadcast feed for the next nights show???
